Support Paden

Put your ideas, dollars, and efforts toward making Paden a great place to learn and play by the Bay. Please consider the following ways you can support Paden and the Paden PTA and help contribute to your child’s educational experience.

Volunteer your ideas and time

  • Become a member of the PTA and come to monthly meetings. This is the best way to get your voice heard about what programs and events are important to you and your child. By becoming a member of the PTA you can provide valuable input on the PTA budget and help decide where our fundraising dollars go.

  • Community-building activities - there are a number of fun events during the year that could use support. These include:

    • Ice Cream Social

    • 100 Day celebration

    • Earth Week

    • Walk and Roll

    • Spring Carnival

    • Field Day

    • 5th grade graduation celebration

    • K-1 carnival

    • Mulitcultural Night

    • Family fun nights - once a month on a Friday, Paden families get together in the evening to enjoy fun activities. Each grade typically hosts one family fun night a year. Check with your classroom room rep to see how you can help.

  • Field trips - teachers organize field trips for their classes throughout the year. Check in directly with your child's teacher to see if they need adult volunteers! In many cases, you'll need to be fingerprinted in order to volunteer. Once you've been fingerprinted, you are fine to volunteer as long as your child is in AUSD (yes, through high school!). The PTA has funds available to reimburse you for the cost if this is cost prohibitive for your family.

  • Fundraisers –

    • Volunteers are always needed to help run Paden's fundraisers, Book Fair, Walkathon, Spring Carnival and Paden Wear Sales

  • Room Rep - on Back to School night, let your child's teacher know you'd like to volunteer as Room Rep! As a room rep, you help your child's class keep up with school and PTA events and updates throughout the year.

  • Art Docent Program and Garden Docent Program - are you creative, do you have a green thumb? This is a great opportunity to volunteer with your child's class.

  • Dad's ClubThe Club's mission is to help build the “Paden Community” (the kind of place where people know each other’s names and say “Hi”) - through fun events and get togethers for both kids and parents. Free beer & club meeting after every Family Fun Night.

  • Committees - periodically Paden or the PTA will create committees for larger, long term projects or PTA-mandated administrative actions. Check with Mr. Sarratore for school committees. For PTA ask any PTA board member or come to the PTA meetings to find out what committees are looking for help.

Fundraisers and Monetary Donations

  • Fundraisers

    • Paden WearShow your Pelican Pride by purchasing a Paden t-shirt, sweatshirt or car magnet.

    • Book Fair – the Scholastic Book Fair is held once in the fall and once in the spring, and helps earn Scholastic Book Bucks for the library. Consider purchasing some books to help.

    • Walkathon - Paden's biggest fundraiser of the year. It's a fun-filled day of walking, music, and dancing. It is a great way for kids to be active, have fun with friends and raise money for the school. Ask family and friends to sponsor your child per lap or with a flat donation. All donations are tax deductible!

    • Spring Carnival

  • Donate money - any amount is appreciated and supports Paden directly. Make checks payable to Paden PTA. You can also donate though PayPal.

  • Matching funds - Check with your employer (usually the HR department) if they match funds. Many employers in the area will match their employee donations to non-profits like Paden PTA.  When you make a donation to the PTA (even if it's for a fundraiser like the Walkathon) you can apply for gift matching with your employer. Typically, it is as simple as filling out a form with the donation amount and date! Paden is registered with Benevity and Deed, but can affiliate with new donation partners if needed!

  • Alameda Education Foundation - Adopt a Classrom at Paden. The AEF Adopt A Classroom program makes it easy for members of the community to support teachers and students. 100% of your donation goes directly to the teacher who uses the funds to purchase critical resources and materials.
